Front Doors

If the roof is what defines the architectural style of a house, what is the significance of the front door (other than to enter the house of course)? Originally used for egress and ventilation, the front door has evolved. It is the "face" of the house. The non-verbal expression of what the house is projecting. It sets the tone and makes the first impression for the entryway, preparing the visitor for what to expect from the architectural style of the home. Plus, they can be fun! Look at the variety of options that can be used. Single door or double? Lights (windows/glass) or solid panels? How about the colors, decorative crown? They can be formal or informal. Front doors are a great way to add impact to your entryway. Take a look at some favorites below from our new home floor plans.
