William Lindy Residential Designs strives to create and offer home designs to meet the needs and requirements of homebuyers, builders and developers while providing architecturally pleasing and desirable home features. While our stock house plans are offered on this site, we also do custom design work and make modifications to stock or existing plans, all for a reasonable and fair price.
Our website will help you find house plans and even garages to suit your needs, from a specific requirement for bedrooms or living space to finding a plan for a steep or narrow lot or a lot with a view. Based just north of Atlanta, in Woodstock, Georgia, William Lindy Residential Designs is a family run business with character and integrity as its foundation. As former home builders, we have in-the-field experience which provides an important perspective in home design. Keeping good design fundamentals in mind, we build each plan on the computer in a three dimensional model (3D), assuring that even complicated roof systems and design changes work with the floor plan. Additionally, we consider building material costs and options while balancing functionality and style. It is important to us to design a home that achieves your goals. William Lindy

He is a former homebuilder, company founder and chief designer. Originally from Philadelphia and graduate of Drexel University, Bill began his construction career in Atlanta building homes in 1973. In 1986, he shifted his emphasis to housing design and began a large portfolio of house plans that continues to grow to this day.

Growing up in the trades was invaluable for Kevin. He is a home designer and has a wealth of building and remodeling experience. After attending Southern Polytechnic, he spent years learning the art of design as well as the CAD program. After doing some building of his own, Kevin still has a love for design.

Home Design Services

What We Do:

William’s interest in historical architecture and his experience working as a builder himself led him to start WLRD in 1987, working with both builders and clients who wanted a custom home design. Over the years it grew into a family business, and we’re still designing houses and updating existing home plans to reflect today’s lifestyles. We have a wide variety of floor plans in a range of square footages and styles from traditional to Craftsman and in between; we have plans for those just starting with their first house, families and empty nesters. We have house plans for your average building lot as well as for steep or difficult lots - in fact, our mountain style house plans, which are also suitable for lake lots, are among our best selling plans.

Additionally, we offer garage plans, many with apartments or guest suites. Review our on-line selection see what excites you. Keep in mind that we modify our designs and can always design a custom home for you to get it just right. Remember, great homes start with good design.

Stock House Plans:

Our stock house plans can be selected for purchase. These plans are best suited for you if you have little or no need for modifications. Keep in mind, that small changes can usually be made in the field. Simply search the online library, select a plan, and purchase. If you can not find one that fits your needs, contact us and we can assist you by searching our archives for house plans that are not currently listed on the website.

House Plan Modifications:

We make modifications to any of our house plans. This is a good option if you need more extensive changes to a design. Simply select the plan you want modified, mark-up any requested changes and send it to us via fax (770-926-1396) or e-mail: info@williamlindy.com We will reply with a written quote that is good for 90 days.

Custom Home Plans:

If you need extensive modifications or if you want something unique, hard-to-find or particular, then a custom home design may be the best fit. Our process can help you design a home to fit a certain architectural style, unique lot or circumstance. Get what you want in a house design. We walk you through every step of the way!
